Christoph Dehne's research focuses on Merger and Acquisition (M&A) performance with a special emphasis on the attributes of the involved companies influencing the outcome of M&As and the impact of integration activities. His aim is to build on the existing literature and develop new, especially contingency-based, approaches to M&A performance. The empirical focus of the studies is on the manufacturing industries in Europe.
Another research question deals with the Make-or-Buy decision inherent in diversificatio activities, i.e. the question of whether to acquire a new company or open up a new business unit in order ro achieve superior performance through diversification.
