Position Announcement: Professor (W2) of Strategic Organization Design

The Munich School of Management invites applications for a
Professorship (W2) (6 years/tenure track)
of Strategic Organization Design
commencing as soon as possible.
The professorship is affiliated with the Institute for Strategy, Technology and Organization (ISTO). Teaching will comprise undergraduate courses related to "Strategic Organization Design" and will supplement the curriculum offered at the ISTO. Involvement in the M.Sc. and doctoral program of the Munich School of Management would be appreciated.
The professorship is part of the "Organisations Research Group - ORG", an interdisciplinary group of researchers comprising management scholars and economists. The ISTO is one of its constituent chairs. The professorship should complement and support the ongoing research activities in the research group. A large-scale empirical approach, ideally complemented by formal theory is desirable. We especially welcome applications from candidates with experience in collecting and analyzing primary data and in dealing with large datasets, including those gathered from the internet ("Big Data").
LMU Munich seeks to appoint a highly qualified junior academic to this professorship and, therefore, especially encourages early-career scholars to apply. Prerequisites for this position are a university and a doctoral degree. With an excellent record in research and teaching to date, prospective candidates will have demonstrated the potential for an outstanding academic career. International experience and an active research network are strong assets.
The initial appointment will be for six years. After a minimum of three years, it can be converted into a permanent position pending a positive evaluation of the candidate's performance in research and teaching as well as his or her personal aptitude and if all legal conditions are met.
Under the terms of the "LMU Academic Career Program", in exceptional cases and subject to outstanding performance in research and teaching, the position may be converted from a W2 into a W3 Full Professorship at a later date.
