The ISTO was founded in autumn 2006 as an endowed chair by the Deutsche Telekom Stiftung. Research and teaching at the ISTO focuses on the intersection between strategic management, technology and organization. A broad range of methodological tools (e.g. econometric and formal mathematical models, computer simulations and qualitative research) provides the basis for the research projects and courses at the Institute.
